Power Systems Engineer
Work directly on systems that others only study: At Newtility, engineers have the opportunity to develop focused expertise in project design, protection & control, automation, or field service while working alongside a team that does it all.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work alongside experienced engineers on some of the most interesting renewable energy, power generation, and industrial power systems projects in the industry
- Design electrical protection and control systems
- Support protective relaying, system modeling, power studies, engineering analysis, and project-level design
- Support control panel design and factory testing
- Collaborate with project teams, interfacing directly with clients, contractors, and vendors
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 0 to 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering
- Passion for learning, thinking independently, and diving into technical challenges

Field Service Engineer
Be on the front lines of renewable energy, substation automation, and grid modernization. At Newtility, you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and energizing a variety of real-world power systems!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work alongside experienced engineers on renewable energy, power generation, and industrial power system projects that others only read about
- Participate in startup, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for renewable energy, industrial, and utility-scale power systems
- Use industry-leading equipment to test medium-voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays
- Gain hands-on experience with control panels, relay protection, SCADA systems, and field commissioning

- 0-10+ years of experience with electrical field service
- Passion for learning, thinking independently, and diving into technical challenges

Renewable Energy Technician
Be on the front lines of renewable energy, distributed generation, and grid modernization – energizing, maintaining, and testing a variety of real-world power systems that keep power systems clean, green, and reliable!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Perform startup & commissioning for a wide variety of distributed generators and renewable power systems
• Test and troubleshoot AC and DC equipment: inverters, panels, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays
• Build and wire relay protection and control panels
• Support the engineering, design, and development of electrical protection, control, and SCADA/DAS systems
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors
• Support integration of renewable energy assets and DG into industrial facilities, electric utilities, and microgrids
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• 2+ years of experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and/or field service
• Familiarity with design tools (AutoCAD, Helioscope, etc.)
• Ability to change gears quickly and think independently
• Comfort moving between office, remote, and field work

Administrative Assistant
Newtility is seeking an organized, independent Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position will be based out of our Brunswick, Maine office.
In a few words, this person will support the administrative needs of the company, including expenses, receivables, accounts payable, HR, travel planning, licensing, and general office support. Bookkeeping using Quickbooks will be a big parts of the job.
At minimum, assigned tasks will include:
- Project administration & documentation support
- Bookkeeping
- Expenses & Receivables
- Licensing
- Inventory & logistics
- Travel planning
- Responding to general phone calls and email
This person must work well with others, be a confident communicator, and interface well with customers, vendors, other engineering firms, and contractors. Juggling multiple tasks and prioritizing will be important parts of the job. This person will need to be self-sufficient and organized.

Full Stack Web Developer
From day one, you’ll help design, maintain, and expand the tools that make our engineering and field operations faster, smarter, and more effective. Build the internal tech that makes the power grid smarter, cleaner, and more reliable.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Develop and maintain custom web apps and databases used by our engineers, clients, and field teams
- Build clean, scalable interfaces and APIs to manage system data, documentation, and reporting
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to turn real-world workflows into fast, reliable tools
- Configure, maintain, and evolve our development and project infrastructure (servers, firewalls, etc.)
- Own applications end-to-end: database, backend, frontend, and deployment
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 4+ years of experience in full stack development
- Proficiency with modern web frameworks
- Comfort working across the full stack, using a variety of tools (i.e. PostgreSQL, Node, Express, Next, React, etc.)
- A mindset for clean design and well-documented code
- Bonus: experience with data visualization, IT/OT support, lightweight GIS, or SCADA integration
